100% inspection of current production

Within production processes,  image processing systems are able to detect defect parts at the earliest possible level in the value chain. Defect parts or assemblies do not attain the subordinated production level and so do not cause follow-up costs. In many cases it is even possible to put back defect parts into the process after sorting-out.

Vision systems can not only detect failures but also can avoid them. In numerous critical areas of a complex production process cameras can monitor and detect changing process parameters. They give a permanent feedback to counteract, they stabilize the process, eliminate manufacturing errors an therefore avoid expensive machine downtime.

In medical engineering and pharmaceutics, highest quality demands must be met and any carelessness cannot be tolerated. The same requirements are also valid for pharmaceutical ampullae which are manufactured with varying shape, colour and size. The quality of the ampullae is monitored by modern in-line camera systems in every stage of the current production.

The vision control system of OTTO Vision monitors the production process at the beginning, directly inside the machine that forms glass to ampullae. Under this difficult environmental conditions the camera inspects the contour of the ampoule and evaluates the measuring results in order to control the burner directly.

Under the rough environmental conditions in a container glass factory so called hot-end inspection systems assure manufacturing quality by a non-contact 100% inspection close to production. Radiant heat, oil-polluted air, vibrating machinery and continuous operation around-the-clock imply an extreme pollution for optical and electronical components.

Based on the long lasting experience of OTTO Vision it was possible to develop special cooling solutions, concepts for shielding of machinery and an evaluation software that forms the basis for a real-time inspection. With aid of the measuring results the forming process can be evaluated and influenced. This results in waste minimization of and production process optimization.
