Since 15 years OTTO has been provided complete test stations for zero defect production of punched stripes in the field of stamping industry.
The test stations PSS-40/S, PSS-40/M(H) and PSS-40/L are now well-known standard types that have been developed over time. In addition, there has been developed a number of special system solutions. One of them was introduced in our newsletter in March, 2015. Only in stamping industry there are more than 400 test stations in use, monitoring the quality 24 hours a day.
The new generation of test station is a result from many years of experience and the close cooperation with a lot of our clients. We have spent the last months to develop a system based on our customers’ requirements and wishes. This applies especially to our new PSS-40/S in compact design. As you can see on the pictures, despite its narrow width of only 55 cm the device is easily accessible from all sides for necessary changeovers. Again the basic plate with stripe guide, cameras and optical elements is designed as an interchangeable plate removable from the frontside. The device has its own strip drive and a cutting unit (on demand) to remove NIO parts from the stripe or for cutting the stripe itself. This system is even applicable for dies with double tracks (two strips out). If required each track can be operated individually. Therefore the test station can be equipped with two image processing systems, two controls, two drives and two cutting units (if required). Both, the interchangeable plate and the system itself, are height-adjustable via threaded bolts.
The image processing technology inside is the latest generation of CVS-30 with our „OTTO software“ in combination with a various amount of possible camera types. Depending on the camera type the real speed from more than 3,000 strokes (press strokes per minute) is reached. At an optical resolutions of 8 MPixel still 1,500 strokes per min are possible. Although most stamping dies do not achieve a stroke rate of 3,000 strokes per min, today it is possible to handle a stamping line with 1,500 strokes double track (two parts per stroke) from camera perspective as well as a system with 3,000 strokes single track.
The heart of the „OTTO software“ is the high performance editor which is easy to use and allows to create new test plans quickly. Of course, the new systems are integrable in company networks. OTTO provides the corresponding software and the database system. We reported on that topic in our newsletter from September 2014 under the heading „Test system and data management“. We would be glad to arouse your interest and to present you our new systems and their high performance software.
