Detection of shape and position

The detection of shape and position of a particular component is an essential pre-condition for visual guided machines in terms of robot vision. Further routine tests of the shape of components can make a considerable contribution to monitor both the stability of the production process and the constant high quality.

Shape deviations of the manufactured part give a valuable feedback about the integrity of complex tools respectively important machine and process parameters. The CVS image processing systems of OTTO Vision offer measurement functions for the determination of coordinates that describe the position. Beside this a contour matching of complex geometries in terms of a variance analysis is also possible. The high speed of the image processing allows to provide data to high-speed machines and to combine the 100% inspection of parts with the process monitoring respectively a process optimization.
